Volvo Penta D8-IPS is a perfectly matched package, powered by the in-line 6-cylinder D8, a 7.7-liter, common-rail diesel with a twin-entry turbo, and supercharger for incredible, low rpm response. The D8-IPS is available in 600, 650, & 700 versions for Commercial applications and 700 & 800 versions for leisure. Working together with a perfectly matched IPS15 pod, twincounter-rotating propellers and the Electronic Vessel Control system, this package offers excellent maneuverability, long action range and low emissions.

Steerable pods provide convenient slow-speed maneuverability and great high-speed handling. Docking is simplified, even in confined spaces. The enhanced maneuverability also supports an efficient driver response – which can increase safety on board.

This optimized, integrated engine and pod system with a turbo provides enhanced performance and improved maneuverability throughout the operating range. By working in undisturbed water, the forward-facing propellers improve the performance even more.

The engine and pod system is designed for reduced noise and an enhanced onboard environment. A combined rubber suspension and seal help absorb propulsion forces and vibrations, and all exhaust fumes are emitted through the pods and into the prop wash to enhance comfort.

Volvo Penta Electronic Vessel Control easily connects the engine, electronics, and a range of optional features such as Joystick Docking, Dynamic Positioning System, and Glass Cockpit. e-Key is standard, and the system also includes built-in redundancy to provide a backup system.

The engine is designed and built for strength, featuring a cylinder block made of compacted graphite iron and a cast-iron cylinder head. Together, the engine and pod form a compact, durable, and efficient package designed for ease of installation. This provides you with reliable performance and long-term durability.
